The Salmon Arm Silverbacks are back at Shaw Centre tonight where they’ll be vying against the Penticton Vees for Game 3 of their playoff series.

Game 1 at the South Okanagan Events Centre on May 2 saw the Silverbacks shutout the Vees 2-0, with Salmon Arm netminder Eli Pulver stopping 37 shots, including 13 in the final stanza. The two markers were delivered by Cole Longacre and Ryan Gillespie.

The Vees made a comeback with a 4-1 win in Game 2, held May 3 in Penticton. First period was a back-and-forth affair with neither team finding the back of the net. About halfway into the second frame, Penticton’s James Fisher got pulled down with a hook, earning him a penalty shot that wound up putting his team on the board. Minutes later, Salmon Arm’s Jonah Aegerter sent the puck flying into a top corner, tying the game with assists by JJ Monteiro and Nathaniel Davis. At 14:44, Billy Renfrew put the Vees back in the lead. The Penticton hosts added two more markers in the final frame.

Pulver made 32 saves throughout the night, while the Vees’ Will Ingemann stopped 27 shots.

Games 3 and 4 take place at Salmon Arm’s Shaw Centre, beginning at 6 p.m.
