The Salmon Arm Volleyball League has wrapped up its season, with the following results: Division 1 - True Zoo 2; Bump N’ Grind; Team Booom!; Bearcats; Broken Play; Bump Uglies; and Hit For Brains. Walk/run for charity
The Third Annual Salmon Arm Walk/Run for Charity takes place on Sunday, May 29 at 8:45 a.m. Sponsored by Shuswap Lady Striders, the event, with 1.5-, 5- and 10-km routes, is open to everyone. The walk/run begins at 8:45 a.m. in the Cool Running parking lot, 1050-10th Ave. SW, across from the Mall at Piccadilly. For information, contact Linda at 250-832-6009.
Bopping into soccer season
In Okanagan Men’s Over 35 Soccer League play last Monday night, Salmon Arm brushed back Vernon Big O Tire 2-1 at Marshall Fields in Vernon despite getting outshot.
Vernon midfielder Brad Conlin gave the Tiremen a 1-0 lead at the break, while Wolfgang Bopp, on a penalty kick, and Andrew Whiston, replied in the second half for Salmon Arm.
A Vernon striker was stopped on three breakaways, including one just before the final whistle.
Hockey-watching heaven
Hockey continues in Salmon Arm. The U18 Female BC Cup will take place April 27 to May 1 at the Sunwave Centre. There will be 120 participants from all over B.C. Soon after will be the U17 Male BC Cup from May 12 to 15 with roughly the same number of participants.
