One day before getting the chance to make more playoff history, the Penticton Vees decided to relive one of the franchise’s most memorable postseason moments.

On April 25, 2017, the Vees travelled to the Fraser Valley and battled the Chilliwack Chiefs in Game 7 of the Fred Page Cup Finals. After three scoreless periods, Duncan Campbell played hero in overtime.

The Manitoba-born forward scored 9:21 into the extra frame, lifting Penticton to its fourth BCHL title in the last 10 years.

Seven years to the day, representatives from the Vees shared a video of Campbell’s goal on social media.

The Vees — who have won two Fred Page Cups since — are now looking to become the first team in 13 years to win three straight BCHL titles.

Penticton hosts the Vernon Vipers on April 26, for the fifth game of the best-of-seven in the second round of the playoffs.

The Vees lead the series 3-1 and with a victory against their Interior rivals on Friday night, would capture their 11th straight postseason series win since 2022.

The winner of the second-round series will play either the West Kelowna Warriors or Salmon Arm Silverbacks in the conference finals.

Puck drop is at 7 p.m. and tickets can be purchased here.
