With nesting season getting underway, dog owners are once again being reminded their four-legged friends are not welcome on Salmon Arm’s Foreshore Trail.

All dogs are prohibited on the Foreshore Trail during peak nesting season, which runs from May 1 to June 30. The time was determined by the City of Salmon Arm and community partners to protect nesting habitat in the Salmon Arm Bay wildlife sanctuary.

Outside of the nesting period, dogs are permitted on the Foreshore Trail provided they remain on the trail or viewing boardwalk and are on a leash up to two metres in length.

Bylaw infractions may be reported to animal control at 236-586-4181.
